Lenoa Is New FASANOC President
Karate Fiji’s Makarita Lenoa has taken over from Joe Rodan Snr as the president of the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC).
She was elected during the FASANOC annual general meeting on Tuesday night.
Lenoa is the first iTaukei woman and second female to hold the position of FASANOC president.
She is the former Karate Fiji president and current World Karate Federation executive committee member.
During her maiden speech, Lenoa expressed her gratitude to all the national federations attending the AGM.
She thanked the outgoing president Joe Rodan, FASANOC chief executive officer Lorraine Mar, and the Board, Pacific Games chef de mission Patrick Bower, IOC member Dr. Robin Mitchell, Pacific Games Council president Vidhya Lakhan, the scrutineers and the entire FASANOC team.
