Mohammed Janif of Natua, Seaqaqa in Vanua Levu never thought he would become a thriving entrepreneur during his lifetime.

The former Telecom Fiji Limited (TFL) technician opened a $750,000 building investment business centre yesterday under the name Janif Enterprises at Raimuri Road in Seaqaqa.

The 46-year-old father of three children said the secret to his success was the more he practised in helping others the more God blessed him.

“After receiving a redundancy package from TFL in 2013, I rented out a small space in Seaqaqa to run a business by the same name,” Mr Janif said.

“I then saw that the Seaqaqa Central Business Centre was growing and I needed to save money to start an investment of my own.”

With the support of his wife, Gita Mala and three sons (Jamsid, Issac and Zumir) and six years later there has been no looking back.

“I’m running my own business today where I can offer better services to my people,” he said.

The building enterprise has a service station, supermarket, Patterson Brothers Shipping agency, Electronic Funds Transfer at Point Of Sale (EFTPOS) service for all banks.

The chief guest Commissioner Northern, Jovesa Vocea, told those present at the opening that he was happy to see local people investing in their own village and area.

“Seaqaqa is a growing area and I wish Mr Janif all the best for his service,” Mr Vocea said.

“This new investment has created employment and added a different view where all services are provided under one roof.”
