New graduate Senimili Wavunitui Qolisese proved that nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it.

This was the motivating factor for the 28-year-old, who was beaming with smiles during the Fiji National University graduation ceremony yesterday.

A native of Vuna Village in Taveuni, Ms Qolisese graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Management and Finance,

She shared that her mum had been the driving force for her in the bid to secure a degree.

“I come from a very academic family and my mum keeps pushing me forward. She has been my biggest inspiration,” Ms Qolisese said.

“Even though mum had a lot on her plate, she was focused and juggled her work while completing her degree and Post Grad studies.”

Ms Qolisese encouraged people to understand the value of time management and to know what to prioritise.

“I had to stay focused and make sacrifices, which meant giving up things just to be able to be here today to get my degree,” said the soft spoken Taveuni woman.

She dedicated her achievement to her family, friends, TCR Sisters and her boyfriend Simi for always being there for her in times of need and displaying tremendous support towards her decisions.

“Whatever your dreams and goal is, keep striving towards it,” Ms Qolisese said.

“Challenges are just temporary, but what you get at the end of the day is for the long run and it doesn’t just benefit you today, but your future.”

She is employed at the Fiji National University’s Human Resources Department.
