New Vehicle Allows Better Mobility For Roko Tui Lau

Roko Tui Lau, Maikeli Waqatabu’s visitations to Lauans living in Viti Levu will now be easier with the availability of a new Lau Provincial Council’s vehicle.
Mr Waqatabu said the cost of the vehicle was provided by the Lau Provincial Council Trust Fund.
He said the new vehicle would also help in the administration work at the office.
The Lau Provincial Council offices he said was at the Yatu Lau Arcade Building in Suva, the Commissioner Eastern’s Office at Knolly Street and the Ministry of the iTaukei Affairs Board at Nasese.
“To get to these offices I had to catch the bus or walk,” he said.
Now that a vehicle is owned by the council it will help when he visits the offices for administrative matters.
“It will also make my visits to members of the province in the Suva and Nausori urban areas much easier,” Mr Waqatabu said.
The new vehicle he said would also be used during his visits to Lauans residing in the Western Division.
Government delegates to the Lau Provincial Council saw the vehicle parked at Studio City on Wednesday where they were hosted to a dinner by the Lau Provincial Council and the Yatu Lau Company.
