Unaisi Naio Nakacia Raikatalau is a widow and mother of three children who lives and walks by faith.

She is always looking for a way to inspire her children to do better in life and there was no better way to do this than graduating from the Fiji National University yesterday.

Mrs Raikatalau, from Naviyago Village in Lautoka, received her diploma in Human Resources Management. She graduated with her cousin.

She told the Fiji Sun after the graduation ceremony that she hoped her persistence in getting a diploma would plant a seed in her kids to go after their own successes.

“I have three children. I’ve always taught them you have to study hard, and that means you will achieve more than me,” said Mrs Raikatalau.

A widow of nine years, Mrs Raikatalau had to juggle work, school and caring for her children while pursuing her diploma.

“I’ve reaped the rewards of perseverance, commitment, and especially being a faithful Christian. I know that God has carried me through to today and I’m grateful for that, for his presence in my life,” she said.
