Reinstate, Compensate  Employees, GPH Ordered

The Employment Relation Tribunal in Suva has ordered the Grand Pacific Hotel (GPH) Limited to reinstate an employee, Makereta Mafili, forthwith.

The court has further ordered that GPH Limited pay Ms Mafili compensation totalling four months wages within 21 days for humiliation, loss of dignity and injury to her feelings.

Apart from this, the court has ordered the hotel to pay Ms Mafili 17 months in lost wages.

It has further ordered that within 21 days, the hotel shall also pay costs to Ms Mafili amounting to $2500.

In another matter involving the same hotel, the hotel has to pay another employee, Inise Toganisaya, 17 months in lost wages and court costs of $2500 within 21 days.
