Vodafone Fiji FACT: Trouble Hits Suva Camp Before Semis

The Suva Football Association has confirmed the suspension of three senior players for discipline issues but it will not affect their chances against Ba in tomorrow’s semi-final of the Vodafone Fiji FACT tournament.
Suva FA president Ritesh Pratap says defender and national team captain Laisenia Raura and striker Christopher Wasasala were suspended for allegedly breaking camp and going on a drinking spree.
Raura and Wasasala had prominent roles in Suva’s successful bid for a place in the semi-finals, with the latter having scored two goals in three matches at the competition.
The third player, former Tavua forward Vilitati Kautoga, was suspended for not reporting back to camp after visiting his family in Ba, Pratap said.
The alleged incidents occurred after the first round of the Fiji FACT last weekend.
Suva are eyeing their first FACT title since 2012 when they face Ba at 3.30pm tomorrow at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
“The team morale is still high despite the suspension and there are no negative feelings in camp,” Pratap said.
“All the players and officials have agreed with the decision to suspend them and it won’t affect our preparations because we have a lot of depth.”
