Survivor series

After the huge success of Australian Survivor Series shot in Savusavu last year between April to June, the team has once again returned for another series.

The crew currently being accommodated at Koro Sun Resort and Spa have kept themselves away from the media and the public.

Savusavu is a small place and the word has quickly gone around that they are back – which is good news for the locals.

It means jobs for the skilled and labourers. Already some have been hired to work on the sets.

The TV series has raised Savusavu’s profile as one of the best destinations in the world for film shoot.
Urgent repairs
BTL is appealing to Post Fiji Labasa office to fix the broken wooden railing and the top floor leaking water. They pose safety risks to people.

It is understood that Post Fiji is still looking for a carpenter to fix the problems.

The problems should be in the urgent-to-fix basket before someone gets hurt.
Spotlight on ex-official

A former senior executive of an educational institution is under investigation for alleged abuse of office.

Details at this stage are sketchy. But keep watching this space for an update.
FNPF contributions

A man who has been working for a shipping company for more than two years has discovered that his last FNPF contribution was done back in September 2018. From then until today there have not been any deductions made.

When he queried it a FNPF officer told him that to follow it up with the company or file a formal complaint with the FNPF.
