Former national 7s captain Emosi Vucago spearheaded the Nadroga rugby side as they walloped Northland 40-13 in their Skipper Cup Premiership clash at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori last night.

Vucago scored a try while former Fijian 7s winger Joeli Lutumailagi scored twice for the Stallions.

Speaking to SUNsports, Vucago said they knew how important this match was given their two early losses to Nadi and Suva.

“It’s like a new start for the team,” the plucky halfback said.

“We have mixture of players now as some senior players have come in to support the young ones.

“This was an important win for us because of our standing on the points table.

“It was a tough start for us in the first two games but our squad is a development one and the results will slowly come.”

Nadroga captain Aca Simolo and Northland centre Kilione Sisiwa were red carded mid-way in the second half after being involved in a scuffle.
