CHECK YOUR COST:

Fijians who travel in ships around the country should closely monitor their cargo charges before paying the cashier. On Saturday night a man was told to pay $65 in cargo charges after arriving in Suva.

With frustration, he confronted the vessel owner to make queries. He ended up paying only $20, which was the exact charge.

“These guys are ripping us off and it’s not the first time,” the man said.

CONSUMER COUNCIL LISTENING?

The multinational fast food chain which normally releases combo deals to get customers their way need to update their frontline that there are specials in place.

Disgruntled customers reached out to BTL complaining that despite specials advertised in the newspaper owned by the fast food owners’ parent company, frontline staff refused patrons the specials yesterday.

A case of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is up to?

More on fast food joints. There is another local outfit which has a drive-through facility, but sadly they expect those who use that facility to wait for up to 20 minutes for their meal.

That kind of service defeats the whole purpose of drive-through, don’t you think?

RIPPLE EFFECT:

No country is immune to the flow-on effects of United States of America increasing tariffs on Chinese goods entering their markets. Let’s wait and watch if Fiji benefits from this or whether we stand to lose out.
