Asco Motors donated $4000 worth of road safety equipment to St Agnes Primary School, Ratu Sukuna Memorial School, Nabua Primary School, Suva Primary School and Suva Muslim Primary School.

“Something like this is just a very clear visual reminder to people to slow down and be prepared,” said Asco Motors chief executive officer Craig Sims.

“Anything can happen; kids run in front of the buses, behind the buses, chasing a ball. We all know it happens, so I just hope this is a very small token, something we can do, to help improve the safety of our children.”

Mohammed Taiyas Hussain, the head teacher of Suva Muslim Primary School, said the equipment is a large upgrade for the school.

“This donation will make our work easier,” he said.

“It’s a great gesture of the company that they are thinking the students of our school, I really appreciate them,” said Mr Hussain.

“I hope to see their continued commitment in the future.

“Now and then we are in need to new things,” Mr Hussain added.

“When school kids see new things, they appreciate them. I hope one day all over Fiji schools can get these things and we are all on the same page in terms of road safety.”

Asco Motors hopes to help schools get on that same page.

“This is just a start. We’ll be looking at some other projects going forward,” Mr Sims said.
