Macuata In Must Win Clash

Macuata will need to beat Ovalau at home on Saturday if they are to keep their Vodafone Vanua Championship campaign on track.
The Northerners have suffered two losses in the competition and are now in a must win situation at Subrail Park, Labasa.
Macuata head coach Digitaki Levaci said they lifted intensity at training after their loss last Saturday.
Levaci said some players that played last week had been down with flu and they would be making a few changes this week.
“We’re definitely looking forward to a great game against Ovalau as they have always beaten us when we go over and play at the old capital,” Levaci said.
“So we don’t to let them come and win on our homeground. So far we have a win and two losses.
“Ovalau is currently the unbeaten team. So should we manage to topple them this weekend, we have a good chance as we currently 5th on the standings.”
Meanwhile, the Ovalau rugby side is adamant of maintaining their winning run in the competition to secure a spot in the semi-finals.
Head coach, Luke Vulo said they are looking forward to a strong game against Macuata.
“We’re working on improving our game to be able to win this week,” he said.
