Qaqa Suva remain undefeated after establishing their fourth win in the fourth round of the Skipper Cup Premiership competition defeating Northland 22-18 at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori last night.

What happened: Northland had a strong start in the opening 20 minutes as they were able to put Suva under pressure.

They strengthened their attack only to see Suva committing silly errors which gave the chance to Eroni Rokotuisawa to kick over two penalties for a 6-0 lead.

Suva gained momentum and scored three tries through lock forward Seveci Naisilisili and winger Epi Cokanasiga scoring a double while Meli Kurisaru kicked over a conversion.

Northland lifted the intensity at the 42nd minute which saw winger Mosese Sigarara scoring a try at the corner and the conversion went wide.

Halftime: Northland 11-17 Suva.

Suva regrouped and lifted the momentum in the second half as they put Northland under pressure and scored their fourth and bonus try through Daveta Koroitakali.

Northland only had themselves to blame with indiscipline creeping into their game.

They managed to score their second try through Norani Vunakece and Rokotuisawa kicked the conversion.

Comments: Suva coach Solomone Nute said: “We’re happy with the win but we we need to improve on a few areas before our match against Naitasiri.”

Northland coach Watisoni Ratulevu said: “I’m happy with the players’ effort but we made some wrong decisions on the field.”

Northland 18: (Etonia Rokotuisawa 2 penalties, 1 con, Mosese Sigarara 1 try, Norani Vunakece 1 try)

Women and U19

Suva Women walloped Northland 60-10 while in the Under-19 grade Suva again thumped Northland 45-3.
