Usman Ali, 58, lost his home in a fire at Narere on Monday night.

He said he received a call on Monday night at his work place at McDonald’s in Laucala Bay that his house at Narere was on fire.

When he arrived he said his home had burned down.

Now he wants to rebuild his home and is appealing for financial help from Good Samaritans out there.

“I know there are good people out there who will help me, but I’ll start the work first,” he said.

Mr Ali lived alone in his three-bedroom house and he confirmed that his electricity was off before he went to work.

He said he did not know how the fire started.

Mr Ali said that they had just completed the transfer of the land title to him.

Speaking about his next move, he said he would start rebuilding the house soon.

He said he was staying at a friend’s house at the moment.

When asked about his wife, he said that they had divorced 10 years ago and she was living in Florida in America with their two children.
