Fiji Airways Fijian 7s winger Aminiasi Tuimaba scored twice as they struggled to beat Kenya 24-17 in their pool opener at the London 7s last night.
Coach Gareth Baber urged his players at halftime to play with urgency as they were held 12-12. The Fijians’ other tries came from Meli Derenalagi and captain, Paula Dranisinukula.
They were to play France and Samoa this morning when this edition went to the press.
Fiji are defending champions of the London 7s. We are in second place with 142, behind leaders USA (145). New Zealand is third (130); South Africa is fourth (121).
