At least 50 per cent of the construction work for the home of Atelaite Koto and her two sons, Graham Woods and Jimilai Kani in Dratabu, Togomasi, in Nadi, is done.

The circle of friends from Lautoka who stepped in to begin with the construction of the home have been at the site since May 24, giving their level best to complete the home by next week.

Team spokesperson Moses Brown said he was grateful to a new contractor that joined the team to speed up the construction work on Friday night.

“We got a new contractor who has stepped in to help us from Simtex Investments with some men,” he said.

“As promised to Koto and the sons we have put up their roof and hopefully the frames will be done.

“And if some of the boys are free tomorrow (today) then they will come and complete the four walls for the home.”

He also said one donor from New Zealand would arrive this week to help set up the family’s toilet and bathroom facilities.

“There is outpouring support that is coming out from the public at large and donations have been coming in through various groups and as of today (yesterday) you can see a better picture of what was here last week.”
