Workers at Broadway Mufflers in Vatuwaqa were shocked to find their office and workshop broken into when they opened their doors yesterday morning.

Police confirm that the company and the building site next door had fallen prey to burglars who during the weekend managed to steal assorted items including cash, tools, building equipment and even paint.

Situated in Ackland Street, the business and the building next to it had no one working in it.

Manager Aklesh Sharma said it was most probable that the burglars entered the premises through the back of the compound and used the scaffolding to climb onto the first floor.
