Celebrating World Biscuit Day
Punjas Biscuit Production Line.

World Biscuit Day is celebrated on May 29th of every year. It is observed throughout the world to celebrate the delicious biscuit – like a food holiday.

Over time, biscuits have developed as an addition to meals and are loved by all age groups.

Our Punjas Lautoka Biscuit Factory features the latest in food manufacturing technology and food safety standards with great steps being taken to adopt international best practices in all systems.

The manufacturing line was purchased from a globally reputed Italian Manufacturer and features a “hybrid-oven” and packaging system.

The fully-automated facility requires minimum human intervention to produce top quality products to strict international standards.

It is remotely monitored by Italian technicians, who ensure the optimum performance and maintaining strict production deadlines.

Food technicians constantly monitor the output of the line, testing for size, thickness, and baking consistency throughout the process.

Random samples intercepted on the line are further tested in the on-site laboratory for recipe and texture consistency.

Committed to respecting people and the environment, Punjas Biscuits is voluntarily implementing a progress-based approach featuring a constant quest for quality and innovation that ensures it responds to market evolutions and customer expectations.

We guarantee extremely strict controls at our biscuit factory in order to ensure the quality and traceability of all our products.

Punjas Biscuits has attained Grade AA certification from British Retail Consortium (BRC) for our continuing improvements in food safety, hygiene and quality procedures.

Punjas Biscuits is one of the first biscuit manufacturer in the Asia Pacific Region to have been awarded the prestigious BRC AA accreditation within such a short time since it starting operations in December 2014.

This is important to us, since quality and food safety have our constant attention, not only during announced audits.

BRC Global Standards are an industry-wide benchmark for quality and food safety that is given much importance to by the Punjas Group.

With our modern production facilities and continuous innovation, we work to meet modern highest standards regarding for food production, safety and hygiene.

BRC Global Standards also guarantees the standardization of quality, safety, operational criteria to ensure manufacturers fulfil their legal obligations and provide protection for end consumers.

BRC Global Standard for Food Safety is developed by food industry experts to ensure it is rigorous and detailed.

It provides a framework to manage product safety, integrity, legality and quality, and the operational controls for these criteria, in the food and food ingredient manufacturing, processing and packing industry.

These international standards are demanded by international markets, perfectly reflect the values that underpin the Punjas Group.

The main ingredients we use in our biscuits is wheat flour milled from Australian premium wheat into Punjas flour.

We pay particular attention to the selection of high-quality raw materials, giving priority to those produced close to our factory.

We also develop long-lasting relations with our suppliers and favour short supply chains.

For example our Punjas Chocolate Chip Cookies are traditionally baked using all natural ingredients including “Real Chocolate”. Most of the Choc Chip Cookies available are using artificial colours and flavours including compound-chocolate (made from combination of cocoa, vegetable fat, and sweeteners used as a lower cost alternative to chocolate) .

All our products are Halal certified and suitable for vegetarians, even our Scotch Fingers are egg free and made with a special recipe so it has a unique taste.

We constantly strive to meet new standards in terms of health and nutrition. Our engineers strive to design functional packaging that corresponds to the size of our end products and reflects our economic approach.

This enables us to optimize packaging and palletization, and thus reduce the number of boxes.

Other ideas for optimizing packaging are currently being researched and will be incorporated into the development of future products: reducing the thickness of our films, using recycled cardboard, etc.

Celebrate the World Biscuit Day by enjoying the Punjas Biscuits range with your family and friends.

Get together with your loved ones and settle down with a cup of tea or coffee to enjoy this day with your favorite varieties of our Punjas Biscuits.
