Suva Too Strong For Rewa

The return of the Swire Shipping Fijian Latui players paid off for Suva when they thrashed Rewa 43 – 17 in their Skipper Cup Premiership match at Burebasaga ground yesterday.

In the 3rd minute Suva halfback Jeke Suguturaga scored which was converted for the 7 – 0 lead.

Suva’s second try came in the 10th minute after a good forward drive led by skipper Peni Raidre resulting in winger Apisalome Voka scoring.

Rewa kicked with penalty in the 22nd minute, 12-3.

In the 24th minute Suva winger Keponi Paul was sin-binned.

Rewa scored a try in the 25th minute to narrow the scoreline 12 – 10.

Suva scored another converted try in the 29th minute to increase their lead to 19 – 10.

Suva up the pace of the game in the second half and Rewa slowed down.

They dominated the second half.

Rewa tried to come back but the Suva defence was tight.

They scored a try which was converted.

Suva continued their attacking game and scored tries the last in the dying minute.

Fulltime: Suva 43 – Rewa 17.

Suva assistant coach Solo Nute thanked his players for a job well while his Rewa counterpart Isireli Bobo applauded the players for the effort.

Naitasiri overpower Northland

Naitasiri beat Northland 20-15 in the Skipper Cup Premiership match at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori yesterday.

Northland spoiled their chances to score to at least draw level in the dying minutes by making wrong decisions.

The red card of halfback Josua Yavala in the first half proved costly for Northland in the end.

The team travel to play Namosi at Thomson Park, Navua in the seventh round on Saturday.
