Twenty-year-old Fiji Airways Fijian 7s reps Meli Derenalagi and Vilimoni Botitu have made their mark in the 2018/19 HSBC World Sevens Series.

Apart from winning the series, Derenalagi has been named World Rugby 7s Rookie of the Year while Botitu tops the DHL Impact Player of the Series.

“That is nothing new to us,” Botitu’s dad, Josaia Lobau, said last night.

“My son is a humble kid with good character and is always working hard.”

Botitu hails from Korobebe in Nadi while Derenalagi is from the chiefly village of Nawaka.
