Australia’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Marise Payne this morning visited Camp Black Rock of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces in Nadi.

She was received by the Minister of Defense Inia Seruiratu.

She reiterated Australia’s support towards the redevelopment of the Black Rock Camp.

“Once completed, it will be a world class facility,” Senator Payne said.

The visit by Senator Payne is part of her three-day visit to Fiji as the newly appointed Foreign Minister and Minister for Women. She was briefed by senior officials. Her visit is aimed at strengthening relations on the continued Fiji-Australia ‘Matavuvale’ Partnership announced by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

Camp BlackRock is a Regional Peacekeeping and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) Centre.

 

Senator Payne is expected to meet with Women MP’s tomorrow morning.
