Former Fiji Airways Fijian 7s star Amenoni Nasilasila scored 19 points as Nadroga thrashed Rewa 59-15 in the final round of the Skipper Cup Premiership at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka on Friday night.

The Ratu Filise kingpin managed to score a try and kicked seven conversions under slippery condition which gave the hosts the needed bonus point victory.

The host ran in nine tries to two.

First five-eight Jonetani Ralulu scored the first try for the Stallions in the 21st minute converted by Nasilasila who played at fullback.

In the 38th minute Rewa No. 8 Josaia Tokarua powered through to score and was converted by Seru Vaniqi 7-7.

Nadroga was penalised and Vaniqi kicked the much needed three points.

Halftime: Nadroga 7-10 Rewa.

Nadroga showed sheer power with Nasilasila scoring a try and converted his own try to make it 14-10.

Nadroga dominated the set pieces due to their experience.

Other tires came from halfback Sakiusa Gavidi, winger Navitalai Bakewa, Aca Simolo, Setefano Somoca, Isireli Nawasali, Ratunaisa Navuma and including a penalty try.

Nadroga’s flanker Rusiate Nasove was sin-binned for high tackle.

Rewa managed to score their second try through Sunia Tuirara, 59-15.

Nadroga team captain Sakiusa Nakalevu said: “It was our aim to win this match and we did it.

Rewa team manager Sakiusa Secake said: “It is a different story when you play a team that has huge depth in rugby. Nadroga has been playing in the top tier for a long time, they showed they are a team to beat with maturity and experience.”

In other matches, Nadroga Women beat Rewa women 25-12 and Nadroga U19 beat Rewa U19 47-5.
