The Golden Century Group of Company Limited (GCL) is currently undertaking bulk earthworks on its 21-acre property to raise the level to Grantham road level.

The company was acquired by the Damodar City Owner, London Guarantee Corporation Limited, in 2015 from the Chinese investors/owner.

By then, the owners of Golden Century Limited has reclaimed the 21-acre property after completing the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and obtaining the necessary approvals.

Building and Property Manager, Rahul Solanki said: “At the moment Golden Century Limited is undertaking the bulk earthworks at the site to raise its level to the Grantham Road level.

“When the time is right, we will announce what the entire development will entail.

“The work on site has been hampered by the rainy weather in the last two to three months.

“Even after the rains, the contractor will need three to four days of fine sunny weather for the soil to dry up fully.

“The weather hopefully will improve now as we are into the dry season and works will pick up speed accordingly.

“Once the ground will be brought up to Grantham road’s height, it will make the site more attractive and also reduce the risk of flooding.”

Mr Solanki said the total investment cost is yet to be confirmed as Golden Century Limited is still working on the design.

He also noted that it is expected to cost in the millions of dollars.

Natua Civil Contractors is currently doing the civil work.
