Ifereimi Rawaqa is now Lautoka’s rugby coach.

The Lautoka rugby side will make an all-out effort to be promoted to Skipper Cup Premiership status in 2020.

The Maroons face Nanukuloa in the Vodafone Vanua Championship semi-final at Garvey Park, Tavua, at 3pm today.

The Ifereimi Rawaqa- coached- ICON Lautoka side just need to win the match to join the winner of the Yasawa-Ovalau match. The Maroons were demoted to the B-division in 2016.

Lautoka Rugby Union executive secretary Sefanaia Scholte said: “Preparations are underway and the coaching staff are working hard because Nanukuloa’s a formidable team.

“It is unfortunate that we won’t be able to play a home semi-final due to ground unavailability. We are urging all our supporters to come down to Garvey Park and support the boys.

“We would like to thank the vanuao Vuda, vanua o Vitogo,Taukei Vidilo and all our fans for supporting the Lautoka Maroons.”

He thanked their major apparel sponsor ICON Apparel Ltd and Tigers Restaurant for being a part of the Maroons family.

The Lautoka v Nanukuloa match kicks-off at 3pm.

In the U19, Tavua host Nanukuloa at 1pm and in the women’s Lautoka face Nasinu at 11.30am.

At Nasau Park, Ovalau host Yasawa Marlins 3pm, in the U19 Ovalau host Yasawa at 1pm and in the women Macuata host Yasawa at 11.30am.
