A part from attacking and biting people, stray wild dogs have attacked and killed some goats in a farming community.

Mohammed Shakeel Khan of Navo in Nadi called the Fiji Sun yesterday to inform about the menace.

“I have lost two goats in the past two to three weeks. So far three goats have been attacked and killed by these stray dogs,” he said.

“I had kept the goats for my daughter, but it’s sad that they were attacked and killed. One goat is badly injured after being attacked last Saturday night.”

Mr Khan said he owned dogs too, but they did not go around attacking and biting people or animals.

He believes the dogs that attacked and killed his goats are owned by someone.

“But if the dogs are not kept properly and fed, then they will become stray and start attacking people and animals,” Mr Khan said.

“The situation is such that I have even told my little children not to go out of the compound without supervision.”
