PM: They Have No Answer

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says the SODELPA Opposition MPs have no answer to the 2019-2020 National Budget.

He said they made no positive contribution.

He said they were critical, but offered no alternative.

Speaking outside Parliament chambers yesterday, he said instead of presenting facts and ways in which improvements could be made, the MPs led by Opposition Leader Sitiveni Rabuka launched personal attacks on the Attorney-General and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and him to try to embarrass them.

He said that was their tactic because they lacked the understanding to put in an alternative Budget.

“They (SODELPA) have had no answer to what Mr Sayed-Khaiyum had presented in the Budget and therefore what you hear is nothing constructive,” Mr Bainimarama said.

“There is absolutely nothing positive coming from the Opposition yet, nothing which can be considered.”
