Fiji Airways Fijian 7s head coach Gareth Baber took time out to train the Holy Trinity Anglican Primary School kaji rugby players at Albert Park in Suva yesterday.

The Under-13 and 14 teams were grateful for the opportunity to be mentored by Baber prior to the kick- off of the Suva Kaji semi-finals this Saturday.

Speaking to SUNsports, team manager Luke Ramasima said the students really enjoyed their time with Baber.

“One of the parents from our school had officially requested Baber to come down the grounds and teach these boys some rugby skills and techniques which we are so grateful for,” Ramasima said.

“I would say it was an exciting opportunity for these young players to learn and become better with their performance.

“Also it was a perfect time for the players to prepare for the semi-finals this weekend.

“However, our preparations are looking good at the moment and we hope to achieve our goal in qualifying for the final.

The U14 side take on Saint Marcellin Primary School while the U13 side face Dudley Intermediate School in the semi-finals.
