Challenger Siliveni Nawai has called on boxing fans to come out in big numbers to watch him fight Sebastian Singh for the Fijian middleweight title at Prince Charles Park, Nadi on Saturday.

“This is it,” the hard hitting Mulomulo Boxing Club boxer said.

“I can’t wait to face my opponent who is the champ and a much experienced boxer. I just want to get over with it since I’ve been training very hard.

This will be the fight of the year. A lot have been said and it’s now time to get it on.”

The Tubenasolo, Nawaka native has been training under the watchful eyes of his dad and former Fijian junior heavyweight champion Ulaiasi Naivogo and trainer Chunchul Baba Kumar.

“Sebastian is an experienced boxer but this is my first shot at a Fiji title and I haven’t lost to any local boxer as yet.”

Nawai said he would banking on the support of his family and the people of Nawaka.

“I thank the promoter for giving me this opportunity. It has been a while to have a fight here at home.”
