The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has requested time to review an aggravated robbery case.

This is in the case of a 31-year-old man facing two counts of aggravated robbery.

Eroni Vaqewa appeared before Justice Thushara Rajasingh.

Prosecutor from the ODPP Shirley Tivao, told the court that disclosures, revealed the accused with other accomplices allegedly kidnaped the second complainant, Reshma Radhika Prasad and her daughter, then took them around in a taxi demanding a ransom.

She told the court that the State was yet to finalise if they would amend the charges and add two counts of kidnapping, and sought for time to advise the same to the court.

For the first count, it is alleged that Vaqewa on February 27, 2017, at Nasinu, in the company of others robbed Ajay Ashwin Kumar of his mobile phone, one wallet, cash valued at $2300 and one motor vehicle (taxi) valued at $24,000, all to the total value of $26,300.

For the second count, it is alleged that Vaqewa on February 27, 2017, at Nasinu, in the company of others robbed Reshma Radhika Prasad of cash valued at $2070, one pair of gold earrings valued at $1000, one gold bracelet valued at $800, two diamond rings valued at $2500 each, one iPhone 7 Plus valued at $2300, one iPhone 6 valued at $800, and one Samsung 6 mobile phone valued at $800. All to the total value of $12,770, the properties of Ms Prasad.

Vaqewa was further remanded in custody and the matter adjourned to July 30, for the State to confirm if it will add more charges.
