The Jack’s Nadi rugby side have opted to be the underdogs as they challenge Farebrother Sullivan Trophy holders Naitasiri at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori tomorrow, says their head coach.

Speaking to SUNsports yesterday Ponijese Lutuciri said they’ve opted to keep a low profile since they have a very young team.

Lutuciri coached the Nadi Under-20 side to win the 2018 Skipper Cup Premiership and this year he took over from Savenaca Aria and Vuata Naresia.

“A lot have been said and done by Nadi in the Skipper Cup and now we tend to carry an underdog tag,” said Lutuciri who is on his first coaching assignment in the Farebrother challenge.

“We know for a fact that Naitasiri is a champion team, they have Latui players. Also playing on their home turf is an advantage for them.”

The team went into camp on Wednesday night at Narewa village in preparation for this anticipated match.

Players that are back in the fold include centre Vilive Aria, former national 7s forward and flanker Samuela Saqiwa and veteran hooker Aseri Buli.

The Fijian U20 reps include Tevita Mociu, Epeli Saukuru, Jiutasa Nave, Marika Tivirivi, Mesake Varo, and Inoke Tavutu.

Furthermore the Jets last held the silverware in 2008 under the guidance of coach, Iliesa Tanivula and were captained by Asaeli Driu.

The Nadi – Naitasiri match kicks off at 3pm.
