Three people were treated and sent home after a Police vehicle allegedly bumped the vehicle they were travelling in on Wednesday.

This was confirmed by Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro.

“The Police vehicle allegedly bumped another vehicle driven by a 37-year-old businessman along the Labasa – Seaqaqa Highway on Wednesday morning,” Ms Naisoro said.

“As a result the driver, his wife and three-year-old child were treated and sent home.”

Meanwhile, a Year One student of Saint Mary’s Primary School in Labasa who was hit by a private vehicle is still admitted at the Labasa Hospital.

Sitiveni Baleisuva of Lajonia, Labasa suffered injuries on his right leg and knee.

Sitiveni’s mother Milika Vakalolo said she was shocked to receive a call from the school informing her about the accident.

“He and other students were walking in single line to get into the school bus when the incident happened around 2:40pm.

“I don’t know what exactly happened. All I want to say is that drivers should drive slowly when they see children on the footpath or any road.”
