The Fijian women’s squash team settled for bronze in the team discipline event after beating Papua New Guinea 2-1 yesterday.

Team manager Frank Chan said they came to Apia for a purpose and they want to return home with a medal.

“I reminded the players to do their best and win a medal because we can’t return home empty-handed otherwise we will get the same negative comments,” he said.

“A lot of mind games happened in this game but I want to thank these players for their effort.” The singles discipline starts today.
