Let’s just say they’re keeping it in the family.

Brothers Josua Tuisova and Filipo Nakosi will start on the wings for the Fiji Airways Flying Fijians in today’s match against the Maori All Back at the ANZ Stadium, Suva.

Head coach John McKee initially named Eroni Sau at number 11, but a heavy mid-air collision with Patrick Osborne during Thursday’s training ruled him out of contention. Sau was seen with a heavy swelling near his left eye at the team’s captain’s run in Suva yesterday, with the injury paving the way for Nakosi to make his Flying Fijians debut.

The brothers were teammates at Toulon last season in France’s Top 14 competition, so the partnership is hardly new.

However, McKee would have been hoping to give his first-choice wingers their first run against a strong Maori team.

The Japan-based Osborne, who was named on the bench, has also been ruled out and replaced by La Rochelle utility Kini Murimurivalu. The coach says the last-minute changes won’t affect the team’s game plans, which would likely involve hurting the visitors with open, attacking rugby complemented by strong support play.

“I feel that we’ve had a good week’s training this week and our game plan will be a simple one,” he said.
