Assessors Give Guilty Opinion In Accused Mother’s Murder Case

Three assessors on Friday returned a unanimous guilty opinion against a 35-year-old woman facing a murder charge.

Rozleen Razia Khan has been found guilty of the murder of her four-year-old daughter by the three assessors after four days of trial at the High Court in Suva.

Khan’s trial was presided by Judge Justice Vinsent Perera at the High Court in Suva.

It is alleged that Khan tied herself to her four-year-old daughter and drove her car off the road and into the Rewa River on May 6, 2018.

She is represented by lawyer Gavin O’Driscoll and the State prosecution from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions is represented by Susan Serukai and Shirley Tivao.

Khan has been remanded in custody and the matter has been adjourned toJuly 16 for judgment.
