A local videographer who was part of a broadcast crew filming the women’s weightlifting event in Samoa was taken aback when he saw the transgender weightlifter make it seem as if the weights were weightless and eventually took gold in the category.

No one is above the law.

Some of our Police officers were understood to have been either sent home or suspended from their duties due to disciplinary issues.

Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho continues to take action against officers who fail to obey the law.

He once said: Ï will have to start removing people if they continue to fail to adhere to my lawful command that I give them. Leadership is such that we have to make such decisions that might not be liked by some of the people you lead, but at the end they will realise it was for their benefit.”

Need For Speed Humps

Fiji Roads Authority needs to seriously consider putting up speed humps along Vuci Road in Nausori. BTL witnessed younger drivers with P on their vehicles indicating holders of Provisional licences zooming up and down the heavily populated area.

Speed humps may force these reckless drivers to slow down.

FICAC on temple funds?

A question many asking BTL: Can the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) look into temple funds’ alleged misuse? Word of advice to all: It is the Police, not FICAC who are the Authority in this area.

So if you end up going to FICAC to lodge a complaint, they’ll just report this case to the cops.

Just so you know.

Transgender Weightlifter

A local videographer who was part of a broadcast crew filming the women’s weightlifting event in Samoa was taken aback when he saw the transgender weightlifter make it seem as if the weights were weightless and eventually took gold in the category.

He thought he was the only one watching in dismay. Not because of the athlete’s gender, but more to the fact that in his opinion, as well as the opinions of many other Pacific Islanders, the women in his category were completely out of the athlete’s league.

To his surprise, a Kiwi broadcaster, whom he is working with during the Pacific Games, was heard swearing under his breath and saying how the weightlifter was a total embarrassment to New Zealand.
