Pacific Games: Veitaqomaki Tipped To Win Today’s 800m Final
Petero Veitaqomaki.

Marist Brothers High School student Petero Veitaqomaki will confidently run in today’s 800m final knowing that he clocked the fastest time in all the heats.

Veitaqomaki won Heat 3 with a time of 1:56.62.

His closest rival is Samoan Tuuaga Fiso who ran 1:57.52.

Papua New Guinea’s Ephraim Lerkin will also be gunning for gold. He clocked 1:57.55.

Kameli Sauduadua ran a time of 1:58.99 to qualify for the final.

The Pacific Games 800m record is 1:49.54 set by Sireli Naikelekelevesi at the 1999 South Pacific Games in Guam.
