Discipline is the essence of any cadet training.

This was the comment made by the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Land Force Commander Colonel, Manoa Gadai at the 67th Natabua High School Cadet Review in Lautoka yesterday.

Colonel Gadai was impressed with the drills displayed by the 1220 cadets which he labelled the drills as being at its ‘highest standards’.

“I believe you have been taught the main aim of drills which is to produce a cadet who is obedient and to provide the basis of teamwork and discipline,” Colonel Gadai said.

“As the RFMF Land Force Commander, I always inform my soldiers that military is discipline and discipline is military.

“Cadet training is about disciplining yourself to always listen and obey the command that is given to you, be it in school or at home, I am very deliberate when it comes to discipline.”

He also stressed on the issue of combating the use of drugs in schools around the country.

“Discipline is about creating awareness and taking up the fight against drug usage in schools,” he added.

“Discipline is about doing what is right, all the time and every time with your positive mindset and right attitudes.”
