Vodafone Fijian football captain Roy Krishna is leaving next month to join his new club ATK FC. The club based in Kolkata, India play in the Indian Super League.

Krishna played at the Pacific Games in Apia, Samoa where they won a bronze medal.

“It’s over now and I’ve two and a half weeks off. I’ll spend much time as possible with my family and then I’ll go to India,” he said.

“The Pacific Games was good but we were in a very tough group. We took each team that we came across. We were disappointed to go down against New Caledonia especially when we played the whole game and the silly mistakes we made.

“The boys regrouped. We played really well against American Samoa and the Solomons so I think we deserved to get something.

“I’m really proud of the boys, the unity was there and the coach believed in us and it showed on the field.”

Krishna admitted that his allegiance is still with Fiji and would come back to play if needed.

“It depends, now that it’s a long way if its qualification series and the country needs me I am always there. I will see with my club and arrange something. I’ll do anything for my country,” he added.
