Case Adjourned For Manslaughter Case
The Lautoka High Court.

The High Court in Lautoka has adjourned a manslaughter matter for seven weeks to be able to set a hearing date when it is recalled.

The matter involves Apolosi Sevai, who appeared in court yesterday charged with the death of his eight-month-old nephew.

Justice Sunil Sharma, who is hearing the matter, told the prosecution and defence lawyers that it could not be prolonged anymore.

He has extended bail for Sevai.

It is alleged that Sevai caused the death of his nephew by failing to install a child restraining device in his vehicle.

It alleges that Sevai’s nephew died as a result when fell out of the moving vehicle on September 27, 2016, in the Western Division.

Sevai is represented by the law firm Kevueli Tunidau Lawyers.

The matter has been adjourned to September 16.
