Five Footballers Test Positive For Drugs

Five players were tested positive for drugs during the two-day pool games of the 2019 INKK Mobile Battle of Giants tournament (BOG) at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.

It is confirmed that the players are first time offenders who represent three different districts.

Fiji Football Association chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf said the players have been immediately suspended and will not participate in any of the matches throughout this tournament.

“Five players have been tested positive for drugs and I will officially write to the players and attach the lab reports,” Yusuf said

“Some of this players are first time offenders and we will check our records and if they are repeated offenders then they will face harsh fines and suspension but if it is their first case then they will be given a month’s time to come out clean and attend a re-test.”
