Defending champions of the Under-14 grade Ratu Kadavulevu School are on track to defend the title against Suva Grammar School next week.

The Josese Tawake- captained side beat Marist Brothers High School 23-10 in the semi-final at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka yesterday.

“First and foremost, I would like to thank God for the strength and also to the supporters that have come out today to support us,” he said.

“As a team we feel very good to know that we are in the final and we will work harder.”

“Majority of the boys are from Veiuto Primary and that’s how we tend to play better as a team.

“We came here with the expectations that Marist will be tough but we just played our best which gave us the victory.”

RKS led started well with a penalty to winger Viliame Baleiyanuca as they led 3-0.

Halfback Nicholas Bolei and winger John Hottes scored a try each for RKS to lead 13-0.

MBHS replied with a try to prop Samson Rodan which was converted by centre Lui Mainavatuiwai.

Halftime: RKs 13-7 MBHS

In the second spell Mainavatuiwai closed the gap with a penalty 13-10.

RKS scored two tries to Seru Vocevoce and Jone Lee.

In the other match, Suva Grammar School under coach Meli Baledrokadroka thrashed Lelean Memorial School 45-8.
