Nabou Accident Victims Remembered In Special Church Service

Victims of the horrific crash at Nabou between Nadi and Sigatoka, on August 4 last year were remembered during a special church service yesterday.
Among families at the service was the sister of the late Sanaila Ruitoka, the mother of the late Josavati Saukuru and crash survivor, Joeli Cawaki.
Also present was Josavati’s close friend, Sakiasi Radibi Saukuru, who was the reason the Ratu Navula College students planned their trip to Suva last year to watch the Deans Trophy semi-finals.
It was believed that the minivan was heading to Suva when it hit a truck belonging to Grace Road Group, which was coming from the opposite lane. The accident also involved a third vehicle.
Four of the dead were in the minibus and two were Korean nationals in the vehicle traveling in the opposite direction.
Two others died in hospital from injuries they suffered.
Sanaila’s sister, Nasau Ruitoka said she would remember her brother who took on a parental role when their mother passed away.
