Two women were given a stern warning to keep away from trouble.

“If the court is going to grant you bail, you keep away from trouble and do not come around at weird hours and loiter in town.” This was the warning issued by Magistrate Waleen George to two women yesterday.

Ana Ciri and Melanie Morris appeared at the Magistrates Court in Suva, each charged with one count of loitering for the purpose of prostitution.

On August 1, 2019, the two were alleged to have loitered at Victoria Parade in Suva and suspected to commit an offence.

Ciri and Morris were arrested last Thursday night by the Police operations team after they were seen loitering around the city of Suva and acting in a suspicious manner.

Ciri and Morris had understood the charges which were read to them in the English and iTaukei languages. Magistrate George granted them bail on the bail bond sum of $200 each.

She also ordered Ciri and Morris not to reoffend while on bail, not to interfere with any of the prosecution witnesses and reside at the fixed addresses given to the court.

The matter was adjourned to September 12 for mention.
