Queen Victoria School is the new winner for the U16 grade after defeating defending champions 12-5 at Lawaqa Park yesterday.

The boys from Nukuvuto received a cheque of $2100 while RKS settled with a $1100 cheque.

It was a special win for captain Sisa Koyamaibole who is also the first cousin and namesake of former Flying Fijians No 8 Sisa Koyamaibole.

“We wanted the win and I reminded the players to keep calm and not to apply pressure but play to our game plan.

“We want to thank all our supporters, the old boys, parents and fans of Matavatucou,” Koyamaibole said.

Queen Victoria School did everything right from the start as they were able to utilized all opportunities and dominated break downs.
Semi Ramacake scored the opening try and Koyamaibole was successful with the conversion.

RKS regrouped and scored their lone try through winger Laisiasa Tuima. The conversion was unsuccessful. QVS led 12-5 at half time.

The boys from Vulinitu maintained dominance and sealed the game with a 12-5 win.
