45 Year Old Driver Dead After Vehicle He Was Driver Veers Off Road In Namosi

A 45-year-old driver is the latest victim on our roads following a motor vehicle accident in Namosi on Monday morning.
Subash Goundar of Cunningham was heading towards Wainiyavu Village when he allegedly lost control of the truck along Nakavika causing it to veer off the road and roll down a nearby slope.
The father of two was employed at Korean Auto Traders, Suva.
Workmates described the late Mr Goundar as an honest and hard-working man who had been an asset to the organisation.
His neighbour Nirmam Kumar also shared similar sentiments adding that Mr Goundar had become a close friend in the seven years that he had known him.
“If he walks past my house in the weekends, he will definitely come in for a bowl of grog, that was the kind of friendship we had,” Mr Kumar said.
“He was a family man, good-hearted and cheerful. He got along with everyone.”
The family is currently waiting for the post-mortem to be conducted.
The road death toll currently stands at 30 compared to 46 for the same period last year.
