Social media policy

Kudos to our top cop for implementing a social media usage policy that makes our law enforcers responsible for their social media usage.

A few Police officers have been sent home for taking selfies while in uniform.

According to a directive to all Police officers, there will no longer be any use of social media and no pictures taken during working hours.

Way to go Commissioner!

This is one way to ensure precious hours and taxpayers’ money is put to right use and maximum productivity achieved. A definite policy that should be adopted by many organizations.

Handcuffs back on

Police officers who were responsible for not handcuffing an accused person being tried for a serious crime in Suva Court have been severely reprimanded.

BTL commends the senior officers who swiftly moved in to rectify the situation after they read the BTL item.

For journalists who report from the courts, they can now breathe a sigh of relief.

They now know the next time the accused appears in court he will be handcuffed.

Bula spirit

It was a rare situation for military officers from the US Army to receive a ‘Bula’ from every corner of the street they walked through.

A military officer told BTL he got about 20 ‘hello’ from Fijians he met along some streets which he found very uncommon to happen abroad.

Unpaid Wheel tax

With the recent Police and Land Transport joint operation, they have confiscated a number of vehicles due to unpaid wheel tax. Some drivers were avoiding checkpoints making hours of rounds before they could reach their destination.

Speaking of safety on our roads, the Police are working tirelessly to ensure the safety of all Fijians.

Mischievousness or stupidity?

A video that has gone viral on social media showed mischievousness at another level. BTL says it’s stupidity

Kids were seen shouting and shaking the bus while the bus was moving.

Some even climbed onto the windows, grabbing the bus roof with their legs out.

Where were the authorities at this point in time?
