Suva, Nasinu Netters Dominate Central Primary Schools Netball Tourney

Suva and Nasinu dominated the Central Primary Schools Netball tournament which culminated at the National Netball Centre yesterday.

The capital city side started off strongly in the U9 grade where the young netters displayed an entertaining game walloping Nasinu Red 15-3.

Suva Sky also dominated the U12 grade where they thrashed Wainikeli 28-11 and Kadavu 21-10 in the U14 grade.

Meanwhile, Nasinu took out three grades winning the U10 grade defeating Suva 10-4 Suva 14-13 in the U11 grade. They also edged out Kadavu 26-23 in the U13 grade.

Winning U10 Nasinu captain Mellin King said: “It was a tough game, I’m proud of the performance and parents supporting us.

“Before the game, we were reminded to strengthen our defence and make all goals count.”

Suva manager Loraini Ravoka believes four weeks of preparation has paid off.

“After having our schools competition, we had four weeks of preparation building up to this tournament.

“We had a good preparation and the support from parents was overwhelming and we want to thank everyone,” Ravoka said.
