The Fiji Institute of Bankers (FIB) has appointed Swastika Lal as a Chairwoman.

In this role, Ms Lal will work with FIB President Saud Minam to provide opportunities to train and develop Fiji’s bankers to meet the growing demands and expectations of the banking industry.

“I’m looking forward to working with Swastika to ensure that our members make the most of FIB’s learning and development opportunities and social events,” said Mr Minam.

“As always, there’s a lot going on. We were pleased to host a networking evening for about 60 of our members at ANZ House last week.We have a two-day workshop for bankers and lawyers in October and the Annual General Meeting in November.

“We also have Pinktober and Movember events coming up, as well as our Christmas function.

“In 2020, we will go bigger and better with technical workshops, scholarship opportunities, indoor and outdoor sports competitions and fun – and very competitive – interbank quizzes.

“We would also like to partner with other organisations to deliver greater benefits to members,” said Mr Minam.

Mr Minam also thanked Ms Lal and the management committee of FIB to bring this in shape.

About Swastika Lal

Ms Lal has worked in banking and assurance for 14 years.

She is a member of a number of executive committees including the

  • Fiji Institute of Accountants and
  • CPA Australia – Fiji Branch.
  • She is currently the Financial Controller for ANZ Pacific covering 11 countries.
  • She graduated from the University of the South Pacific with a Bachelor of Arts with double majors in Accounting & Economics.
  • She is also CPA Australia member and has completed ADB (Asian  Development Bank) Women in Leadership program and ANZ Notable Women Programme.
