The Methodist Church in Fiji and Rotuma president, Reverend Epineri Vakadewavosa, has apologised to Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama over criticisms against his Government by a church minister.

“I apologise to the Prime Minister for the criticisms,” he said.

The original report was in the Between the Lines column yesterday.

He reiterated that the church fully supported the Government of the day and its leadership.

He said the Bainimarama-led Government had helped the church and such criticism was uncalled for.

“The church supports Prime Minister Bainimarama,” Reverend Vakadewavosa aid.

This particular pastor had delivered a sermon at Naiborebore Village in Tailevu on August 12.

Later at a yaqona session at the community hall, the pastor heavily criticised Mr Bainimarama and his government.

This was reported to the Prime Minister by one of his supporters at the village.
