Mechanical Harvester Incident Severs Man’s Left Hand

A man in his late 40s is recovering at the Labasa Hospital after his left hand was severed at the wrist.
Manoj Kumar, who lives in Savulotu in Seaqaqa, was allegedly clearing leaves from a mechanical harvester when his hand was said to have been caught in the blade and was sliced off. The alleged incident happened on Wednesday.
When visited at the hospital yesterday, Mr Kumar’s left wrist was bandaged. He confirmed the incident but declined to make further comments.
